METEC’s 4WD Driver Training Course is designed to safely help you get the maximum out of your 4WD in an off-road capacity — perfect for employees visiting building sites and off road facilities.

An integral part of OH&S Workplace safety for Council vehicles that require their Parks & Management and other departments to access fire breaks, park areas and bushland.

What will you learn?

Our Expert Driving Instructors will provide you with information to help reduce the risks you could face when driving in remote off-road locations, and you’ll receive practical instruction on the specifically designed, METEC 4Wheel Drive Training Track at our Melbourne facility.

Our Off-Road Course features actual hills, slopes and small water crossings, and is exclusively geared to show you (and your vehicle) a first-hand understanding of what you can and should not tackle.

You’ll cover aspects such as:

  • Handling characteristics of 4WD Mode
  • Wheel Placement
  • Key Starts
  • Stall Stops
  • Steering/Raking
  • Skid Control and Brake control
  • Hill ascents
  • Driving on difference surfaces

Our METEC 4X4 Driving Course has been configured to suit a range of vehicles and conditions and provides you with an ideal opportunity to practise ‘off-road’ and increase your sense of safety, skill levels and techniques to help ensure you get home from your next driving adventure in one piece. Whether you like to drive out in the bush or up into the snow, this course will give you the driving skills to get along most bush tracks in rural Australia.

All of our training is conducted by our hand-selected road training experts who are Fully Qualified and Registered Instructors.

Participants for this course must have their own insured vehicle.

METEC are also proud to offer Certified Courses for commercial and industrial application for an additional fee.
